Sumner HS Band Program Students, Parents and Families:

I hope everyone has had a nice week and weekend - it sure looks a lot different outside than it did a week ago with all of the snow. We’re moving on with our final few weeks of our ongoing full-distance learning before we move to our combination of Hybrid and Distance Learning that starts on March 9th. I haven’t yet received the OK to talk about things in detail yet, but I can tell you that it’ll be much different than what we have going on now, so just hang in there and wait for the information to come out. There will be lots to share. I am really looking forward to seeing and hearing all of you for the first time IN A YEAR!

I must say it felt very weird for Sumner HS to have a home football game with almost no spectators in attendance - AND NO BAND! This was the first home football game we’ve missed in the 32 years that I’ve been at Sumner HS but it is what it is and I hope every day will get us closer to a return to normal.

There’s also no news yet on our possible performance as a group on Saturday April 17th for the modified Daffodil Festival, but I have a feeling that we won’t know until it’s almost upon
us, so continue to think positive and do the right things and we’ll see if things are good enough for us to perform on that date (remember to keep the date open for now).

You may have noticed on the Week at a Glance, but we’re going to have a very special SENIOR MEETING next Monday night at 7:45PM - we’ll let our meeting out early so we can talk to all of you for a little while and get some things planned for your final Spring as Sumner HS Band Program member - PLEASE ATTEND!

We’ve had a good start to the semester and this week we’ll be dropping our first playing assignment (it’ll be due on FlipGrid on Friday March 5th at 11:59PM) so we’ll go over it in classes this week. I’m checking the writing assignments that were due last Friday and it seems like a lot of students worked hard to get them in on-time. Thanks very much.

So, here we go with a FULL-WEEK of classes and activities (at least we can hope so):
